This Bluebell Wood has long been loved by the people of Dorchester as shown by the old tree carvings/graffiti on the oldest Beech Trees. Up until recently (about 4 years ago) there was unfettered informal public access, but the owners then fenced the wood off with barbed wire (and even razor wire). Since then there are far fewer visitors; walkers can now only “view” the Bluebells from a nearby public path and another permissive path. Why should people be prevented from enjoying these Bluebells?
