Beresford Hall estate contains a fishing temple built in the 1600s by Charles Cotton for friend Izaak Walton (who wrote The Compleat Angler) & a beautiful stretch of the river Dove. Both not publicly accessible.
On investigation the Beresford fishery is now owned by American financier Zachary Levenick. There is some debate about who owns the land – the name Jennifer Waters seems to be of some importance.
Access to the grounds is easy. Head to the end of Beresford lane and you’ll figure it out.
Locked door in boundary wall.
