A few years ago shrewsbury town council illegally sold off part of the park that had been bequeathed to the community as amenity land many years ago for development. Subsequently granting planning permission for 17 dwellings, which apart from anything else, would necessitate cars driving right by the childrens play area. Fortunately, the community have been fighting the illegal sale and supported by the good law project the case is to be heard in the supreme court on dec the 7th 2022.
