We call ourselves tree guardians. Time and again on or rambles we encounter dead and dying trees, strangled by the guards put there to protect them as saplings. Landowners and tree planting organisations dont bother to remove. We must hold them to account.
Whats the point of planting 1000s of trees, for them to rot a decade later? We see it as our job to snip the guards off. Its up to the landowner what they do with the bundles of tree guards left in their yard.
G stands next to a tree he has just rescued from a suffocating tree guard. Decomposing matter and damp clings to the trees, causing them to rot and restricting their growth
